To be a significant and enduring force in enhancing the Defence - Industry relationship.

Mission

To contribute to the Defence Industry relationship by fostering networking, and a continuing involvement in the personal and professional activities so much enjoyed during attendance at IMC or DISC.

Goals

1. To promote the continuing interest in Defence and Industry matters.
2. To foster friendship, understanding and mutual co-operation between members.
3. To maintain an avenue for contact between IMC and DISC graduates particularly between graduates of different courses.
4. To provide a facility for the presentation and publication of ideas and opinions of Defence and Industry interest.
5. To offer advice to the Defence and Industry Study Course [ DISC ] co-ordinator on future programs and activities.
6. To maintain close professional links with Defence through the Defence Materiel Organisation.

Activities

Goal 1: To promote the continuing interest in Defence and industry matters

1. Encourage membership in DAICA.
2. Distribute DAICA newsletter with current and interesting information on DISC and other activities.
3. Encourage and promote activities which enhance interest in Defence and Industry issues across Australia.
4. Maintain currency of the DAICA website.

Goal 2: To foster friendship, understanding and mutual co-operation

1. Promote membership of DAICA to IMC and DISC year groups.
2. Foster appropriate social activities.
3. Promote active professional and personal networking between DAICA members.

Goal 3: To maintain an avenue for contact between IMC and DISC graduates

1. Encourage new DISC graduates to join DAICA.
2. Encourage activities of interest to IMC and DISC graduates.
3. Issue regular newsletters.
4. Generate and make available a database of DISC graduates via the website.

Goal 4: To provide a facility for the presentation and publication of ideas and opinions of Defence and industry interest

1. Issue regular newsletters and maintain/update the DAICA website.
2. Encourage professional activities across Australia.
3. Maintain close contact between DAICA and the DISC coordinator and DMO Regional Managers.
4. The National President to promote DAICA views to Defence.

Goal 5: To offer advice to DISC Coordinator on future programs and activities

1. National President and Council Members to maintain close links with the DISC Coordinator.
2. Maintain DISC Coordinator as an ex-officio member of the National Council.
3. Seek DAICA input each year in development of the DISC Program.

Goal 6: To maintain close professional links with Defence through the Defence Materiel Organisation

1. National President DAICA to maintain close liaison with Head of Industry Development.
2. National Council to maintain links with the Head Capability Development Executive, as the DAICA Patron and the Minister's Office.
